Opmerkingen

Macedonia's first independent currency series, introduced after the country severed its monetary ties with Yugoslavia in 1992, was produced under considerable logistical pressure — the new state had virtually no domestic printing infrastructure and was navigating international recognition disputes simultaneously. The 1000 Denari was among the higher denominations in this inaugural issue, which cycled out of use relatively quickly as inflation eroded purchasing power through the mid-1990s and the series was superseded by a redenominated currency in 1993, with one new Denar replacing 100 old Denari.

Pick 6 is not rare, but genuinely circulated examples in heavy use show characteristic wear along the horizontal fold lines common to notes of this format.
