| Obverse description | Two traditional Rwandan dancers in elaborate ceremonial costume occupy the right side of the note in intaglio engraving, the lead figure holding a spear and shield. The centre field carries the large numeral 1000 above the legend PAYABLES A VUE, set against a geometric guilloche underprint in blue and multicolour diamond patterns. The Rwandan national arms appear at lower left alongside two signature lines captioned 1ER VICE-GOUVERNEUR and LE GOUVERNEUR, with the date 1-01-1988 at centre left. |
