| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Burkina Faso occupies the central field, depicting a shield charged with a central five-pointed star and supported by two rearing stallions, with crossed spears behind the shield and an open book below. A scroll across the top of the arms bears the legend BURKINA FASO, while a ribbon at the base carries the national motto UNITE PROGRES JUSTICE. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU BURKINA FASO arcs around the upper periphery, and the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed in bold relief along the lower margin.
