| Obverse description | Central field bears the national emblem of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, depicting a stupa flanked by decorative foliage and a gear wheel at the base, all enclosed within a beaded inner border. The legend 'THE LAO PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC' curves along the upper periphery in Latin script, while the denomination '1000 KIP' is inscribed along the lower field. The Lao-script legend 'ສາທາລະນະລັດ ປະຊາທິປະໄຕ ປະຊາຊົນລາວ' and 'LAO PDR' also appear on the obverse. The overall design is rendered in high-relief proof finish on a polished gold flan. |
