Slovakia's highest-denomination note during the koruna's final decade, this 1000 Kč was printed by De La Rue in London across three catalog variants distinguished primarily by security upgrades — the holographic patch being the defining feature of the later issues. The patch replaced an earlier foil strip as counterfeiting pressure on high-value koruna notes increased through the early 2000s.
Jim Moore's engraving work gives the intaglio printing an unusually fine line quality for a note of this period. Slovakia retired the koruna on 1 January 2009 upon euro adoption, making the 2007-dated examples among the last substantive printings of the series.
