Opmerkingen

Bulgaria's wartime finances by 1942 were under severe strain from occupation costs levied by Germany — the Reich extracted payments in leva for the stationing of troops and logistics infrastructure, a arrangement that pumped enormous quantities of currency into circulation and forced the Directorate to issue high denominations it would otherwise have avoided. The 1000 Leva was a direct product of that inflationary pressure.

Printed domestically by the Държавна Печатница in Sofia rather than contracted abroad, the note reflects Bulgaria's wartime self-sufficiency in production. P#67B designates the second signature variety within the series.
