| 正面描述 | A three-quarter-facing intaglio portrait of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk occupies the right portion of the note, set against a fine guilloche underprint in violet-purple tones. The central field carries the bold numeral '1000' above the inscription 'BİN TÜRK LİRASI', framed by ornate latticework borders with denomination numerals repeated at the corners. A blank oval watermark window is positioned to the left, with two-position serial numbering and series prefix printed across the face. |

| 备注 |
Bradbury Wilkinson printed this note during a period when Turkey still outsourced its high-denomination production to British security printers — a dependency that would begin to change by the early 1960s as the Darphane expanded its own intaglio capabilities. The 1000 Lira was a substantial sum in 1953 Turkey, where per capita income remained low and inflation pressure was already building under Adnan Menderes's government and its aggressive public spending programs.
P#172 is the third emission in the Fourth Issue series. Bradbury Wilkinson's plate work on Turkish notes of this generation is generally considered among their finer commercial commissions from that decade.
