Opmerkingen

The incorporation of abacá fiber into Philippine banknote paper is not incidental — the Philippines is the world's dominant producer of abacá, and its use in currency stock is a deliberate sourcing policy maintained through agreements between the BSP and domestic fiber suppliers. The 80/20 cotton-abacá blend gives the substrate a marginally different hand and tear resistance compared to standard cotton-rag stock.

Crane Currency's Malta facility has supplied Philippine notes since 2018, taking over production that had previously moved between several international security printers. The tactile marks on this note are a BSP accessibility initiative, introduced to assist visually impaired users in distinguishing denominations.
