Obverse description Printed in dark purple-brown on a fine guilloche underprint, the obverse carries the title GOVERNMENT OF INDIA at top centre with the issuing office RANGOON below. A portrait vignette of King George V in full regalia occupies the right side, with the promise text I PROMISE TO PAY THE BEARER THE SUM OF centred on the note. A red overprint reading LEGAL TENDER IN BURMA ONLY appears across the top, distinguishing this Burma issue from standard Government of India notes.
