正面铭文 TAUSEND SCHILLINGE DIE NACHMACHUNG DER BANKNOTEN WIRD GESETZLICH BESTRAFT Tausend Schillinge Wien, am 2. Jänner 1925 Oesterreichische Nationalbank Präsident Generalrat Generaldirektor 1000
背面描述 The reverse is dominated by a large central cartouche of interlaced guilloche scrollwork enclosing the Austrian double-headed eagle coat of arms, executed in deep intaglio in blue-violet tones over a green and rose multicolour underprint. Two cornucopia-like basket vignettes anchor the lower corners, while floral and foliate ornaments fill the field symmetrically around the central motif. Numeral denominators «1000» appear in bold at upper left and upper right, and the denomination legend is repeated continuously along all four borders.

备注

The Oesterreichische Nationalbank was itself only three years old when this note was issued — it had been established in 1922 as part of the League of Nations reconstruction program that hauled Austria back from hyperinflation. The 1000-Schilling denomination was the highest in the new stable currency, and its scale reflected genuine purchasing power rather than the inflationary absurdity of the preceding Kronen issues.

Rudolf Junk was a prolific Viennese graphic artist whose commercial work spanned bookplates and posters; Karl Sterrer was a painter of academic standing. An unusual pairing for a banknote commission, and it shows in the design's character.
