The 1000 Tögrög denomination has been the workhorse of Mongolia's mid-range currency for decades, but the 2020 revision of this series was driven primarily by the need to update security specifications rather than any redesign ambition. Mongolbank has progressively upgraded the thread and watermark specifications across reissues since the late 2000s in response to counterfeiting pressure concentrated in border trade zones with China and Russia.
Pick 75 sits within a run of closely related signature varieties that can be difficult to distinguish without careful attention to the authorization signatures on the lower register — a detail that matters more to specialists than the catalog numbering suggests.
