Obverse description Quarter-circle cut segment of a Spanish colonial cob (macuquina) coinage, with the partial remains of a cross visible in the field. Three rectangular countermarks bearing the letter 'M' (for Montserrat) are applied at three corners of the quarter-circle flan, with a partial fourth 'M' countermark and the letter 'R' also visible near the upper right, authenticating the piece for local circulation. The curved edge retains traces of the original coin's milled border. The silver surface shows the characteristic irregular, hand-cut flan typical of cob coinage.
