| Obverse description | Plain, uninscribed convex surface exhibiting no intentional design elements, characteristic of the obverse die of this class of British geometric quarter stater. The flan is irregularly rounded with a slightly lobate edge, typical of hammered Celtic gold coinage of the Late Iron Age. The surface displays a smooth, highly convex relief with no discernible figural or geometric motifs, presenting as a blank or featureless field. This blank obverse is consistent with the 'Geometric' series attribution in Spink and Mack catalogues. |
