| Obverse description | Central field displays the Mongolian state emblem of 1940–1960 design, featuring a mounted horseman galloping leftward over a landscape, set within a circular ornamental border of traditional Mongolian interlace (ulzii) pattern. Surrounding the central device are four circular medallions positioned at the cardinal points. The Cyrillic legend БҮГД НАЙРАМДАХ МОНГОЛ АРД УЛС, denoting the Mongolian People's Republic, runs along the upper periphery, while the numeral 35ОН appears at the bottom, referencing the 35th anniversary of the Republic. The whole is enclosed by a reeded border. |

Mongolia's 1945 coinage was struck as the country formally declared war on Japan in August of that year — a last-minute entry into the Pacific conflict that secured Soviet-backed Mongolian independence recognition in the subsequent peace negotiations. Coin production continued under close Soviet administrative influence, and the alloy specifications of this series mirror contemporary Soviet small-denomination coinage almost exactly.
