The countermark consists of a crowned shield of Portugal surrounded by a decorative cartouche, with the numerals '150' prominently struck within a rectangular indent at the centre of the field. A second smaller crowned shield counterstamp is visible adjacent to the primary mark. The countermarks are deeply and boldly impressed, contrasting with the worn surfaces of the underlying host coin. |
