| Descrizione del dritto | Central type consisting of a scallop shell (pecten) depicted in profile view, its fan-shaped ribbed valve prominently rendered in the center of the field. The shell is shown with characteristic radiating ribs converging toward the base, flanked by two smaller valve lobes at either side. The design is executed in low relief typical of Iberian hammered bronze coinage, with no surrounding legend. The flan is irregular and slightly rough, consistent with the hand-struck production techniques of the Iberian mint at Arse-Saguntum during the early second century BC. |
