The 19 Złotych denomination exists for one reason: 2019 marked the centenary of Poland regaining independent statehood, and 19 was chosen as a direct numeric echo of that year — 1919. It is a commemorative issue, not a denomination that ever entered regular circulation, and Narodowy Bank Polski has used this kind of unconventional face value before for collector-targeted releases.
Printed by PWPW in Warsaw, the state security printer that has handled Polish banknote production since the interwar period. The relatively modest security feature set reflects its commemorative rather than transactional purpose.
