| Reverse description | The reverse of this Spanish 2 Reales host coin presents a bold saltire cross extending to the coin's inner border, dividing the field into four quarters each bearing alternating castles and lions within a quadrilobe frame. The date 1718 appears prominently at the top of the field, flanked by small ornamental stars. The surrounding circular legend reads REX · HISPANIARUM, declaring the monarch as King of the Spains, enclosed within a beaded inner border and a milled outer edge. The entire composition is struck in the characteristic style of the Seville mint under Philip V. No Barbados countermark is visible on this face. |
