Additional information

A mule in the strict numismatic sense — this piece pairs dies that were never intended to be used together, almost certainly the result of a mint worker's error or a deliberate experiment at the Casa de Moneda. Honduras contracted much of its coinage production to foreign mints during this period, and attribution of responsibility for the mismatch has never been definitively resolved. KM#64 is sparsely documented, with surviving examples few enough that population data remains unreliable.
