Uruguay's 1869 coinage reform produced several pattern pieces as the government evaluated denominations and metals before committing to a circulating series. This silver pattern for a 2 centesimos denomination was almost certainly a non-starter from the outset — silver at that module for such a low face value made no economic sense, and it never advanced to production. The KM#Pn9 attribution places it among a small group of documented試 trial strikes from that year, almost certainly produced at a European mint contracting for Uruguayan coinage.
