Bermuda's switch to polymer for this 2024 issue reflects a broader regional shift toward substrate durability in small-island jurisdictions where humidity and salt air degrade cotton-linen paper rapidly. De La Rue has been printing Bermuda's currency since the Authority's establishment in 1969, and this continuation of that relationship into polymer production is notable — TDLR's polymer platform competes directly with Note Printing Australia's Guardian substrate, and Bermuda's adoption here signals confidence in the British supplier's newer technology.

TBB#237 makes this one of the most recently catalogued Bermuda issues on record at time of listing.
