Opmerkingen

The National Liberation Front — the political arm of the Viet Cong — issued a short series of notes in 1968, apparently intended for use in territories under their control as a parallel currency to both the South Vietnamese piaster and the North Vietnamese đồng. This 2 đồng denomination was never placed into circulation. The entire print run remained unissued, likely because the anticipated territorial consolidation that would have made a functioning NLF currency practical never materialized after the Tet Offensive failed to hold urban centers.

The printer has not been conclusively identified in the literature, though the quality of the paper and printing is consistent with Eastern Bloc production facilities used for other NLF materials.
