Constantine II's reign produced this issue under increasingly unstable conditions — he was deposed in a countercoup attempt in December 1967, fled to Rome, and was formally stripped of citizenship in 1974. The coins of this type continued striking through 1970 under the military junta that had seized power in April 1967, meaning later dates in this range were issued by a regime that had already exiled the king whose portrait they bore.
