正面描述 Central inner disc of gold-colored alloy depicts a stylized architectural motif, likely a historic gate or civic building associated with the state of Schleswig-Holstein, surmounted by a small heraldic shield. The outer ring bears twelve stars in the European Union style, with the legend 'DEUTSCHLAND' arching across the upper field and 'SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN' along the lower periphery in raised Latin lettering.

附加信息

Schleswig-Holstein's entry in the German federal states commemorative series, released in 2006, marks one of the quieter choices in the program — a state better known for its contested 19th-century history with Denmark than for any single monument. The Schleswig-Holstein Question, which Palmerston famously quipped only three men had ever understood, consumed European diplomacy for decades before the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 settled the matter by force.

Germany struck pieces for this issue across all three domestic mints — Berlin (A), Munich (D), and Hamburg (J) — with Hamburg's output carrying particular local resonance given the mint's geographic proximity to the region.
