Obverse description Left-facing effigy of Marianne wearing a winged Phrygian cap, engraved in a classical style by L. Bazor. The background features four ships berthed at a quay, rendered in low relief within the field. The legend REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE UNION FRANÇAISE arcs around the upper periphery, while the engraver's signature L.BAZOR and the mint mark GB appear near the truncation.
