Obverse description Central round hole encircled by a solid inner ring, around which three royal crowns and the royal cypher of Queen Margrethe II are arranged symmetrically. Two heart motifs appear at the upper left and upper right of the central design. The date 1988 is positioned at the base, while the incuse legend PRØVE appears at the upper right, identifying this as a pattern issue. The design is contained within a solid outer ring along the rim.

Pattern coins from Denmark's 1988 coinage reform trials rarely surface in dealer inventories. This particular type Va designation places it within a numbered sequence of competing designs evaluated before the definitive circulating 2 Krone type was settled — meaning it was rejected, or at minimum not selected as the production standard.

Danish pattern series from this period were struck in limited numbers strictly for internal Nationalbanken evaluation.
