| 裏面の説明 | The reverse field displays the sultan's royal title and the Hijri regnal year in Arabic calligraphy arranged across three lines, identifying him as Sultan of Land and Sea and recording the date AH 1319. The inscription is bold and deeply incised in a flowing Naskh script consistent with the obverse treatment, filling the flan in a compact and authoritative layout. Several decorative dot groups are visible in the left field flanking the legend, serving as ornamental fillers. The rim is encircled by a uniform denticulated border matching that of the obverse. No pictorial devices or additional ornaments appear beyond the calligraphic text and dot fillers. |

Muhammad Imaaduddeen V ruled the Maldives as Sultan from 1893 until his forced abdication in 1903, a reign spent largely under the tightening grip of British Ceylon's administrative influence. The lariat — the Maldives' traditional currency unit — had circulated in gold, silver, and copper denominations for centuries through the island atolls, but issues from this reign are sparsely documented and frequently absent from major reference works. The KM#Pn designation signals a pattern coin, almost certainly struck for presentation or record purposes rather than circulation.
