| Opmerkingen |
Poznań was only weeks clear of German administration when this note appeared — the city transferred to Polish control in February 1919 following the Greater Poland Uprising, and the municipal council was issuing emergency scrip almost immediately to address a severe shortage of small-denomination currency. Berlin's withdrawal had left local commerce effectively stranded.
Magistrat-issued notgeld of this type was meant as a stopgap until Warsaw could supply proper state currency, which took considerably longer than anticipated.
