| 背面描述 | The reverse displays the large numeral '2' prominently in the upper field above the central round hole, which is framed by a raised circular collar. The Cyrillic denomination МӨНГӨ is inscribed in the lower field beneath the hole. A symmetrical wreath of stylised flowering plants with budding blossoms and broad leaves flanks both sides of the central design, rising from a tied base at the bottom, with the whole composition enclosed within a beaded outer rim. |

The 1959 Mongolian coinage reform replaced the earlier Soviet-influenced bronze issues with aluminium, a shift driven by the same material economics pushing satellite states across the Eastern Bloc toward lightweight alloys in the late 1950s. Mongolia's dependence on Soviet minting infrastructure meant these pieces were almost certainly struck in Leningrad, as was standard for MPR coinage through much of the communist period.
