| Reverse description | Seated figure of Britannia facing left, depicted in classical robes, holding a trident upright in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. She is seated upon a rock or plinth, with a large shield bearing the Union flag resting at her right side. The legend BRITANNIA curves along the upper periphery with periods between each letter, and the engraver's signature WM WYON appears in the lower field or exergue. The design is enclosed within a toothed or beaded border. |

| Additional information |
In 1822, the British government was actively considering a copper coinage for the Ionian Islands, then a British protectorate. This piece is a pattern — a proposal struck for official consideration, never approved for circulation. The Royal Mint produced very few examples, and the surviving population is correspondingly small. KM#Pn2 is the standard reference, though documented auction appearances are infrequent enough that pricing remains genuinely uncertain.
