| Obverse description | Printed in shades of green on a light guilloche underprint, the obverse carries a large intaglio vignette at right of a young woman in traditional Hungarian folk costume, set within an ornate lace-patterned arch. At centre, the issuer name MAGYAR NEMZETI BANK and place of issue BUDAPEST are printed above the date 1940. JÚLIUS HÓ 15-ÉN, flanked by three manuscript signatures with their respective titles; to the left, a decorative foliate column incorporates the numeral 2, surmounted by the Hungarian coat of arms in light olive at the far left margin.
