Pasing was an independent Bavarian municipality until 1938, when it was forcibly incorporated into Munich — one of many smaller towns absorbed under National Socialist administrative consolidation. This 2 Pfennig note would have been issued during the Notgeld period, roughly 1914–1923, when German municipalities printed their own emergency small-denomination paper to compensate for the disappearance of coins from circulation. At 2 Pfennig, this sits among the lowest denominations ever committed to paper in German monetary history.
The Stadt Pasing issues are not heavily documented in major Notgeld catalogs, making precise attribution of dates and print runs difficult.
