Obverse description Central device depicts a Chinthe, the mythical Burmese guardian lion, rendered in high relief in a traditional heraldic posture facing left with one forepaw raised. The creature displays characteristic features including an open roaring mouth, elaborately styled mane with flame-like projections, scaled body, and a curling tail. The figure occupies the majority of the square flan with rounded corners, set against a plain field with no surrounding legend.

Reverse description The central field bears the denomination numeral in Burmese script at the top, followed below by the denomination in words in Burmese script, all enclosed within a decorative wreath of stylised foliate scrollwork arranged symmetrically around the perimeter of the square flan. The Burmese calendar year appears in numerals along the lower exergue, beneath the floral border. The overall design is elegant and ornate, consistent with the artistic conventions of early post-independence Burmese coinage.
