Mordovia is a real Russian federal subject — a republic within the Russian Federation — but it has no authority to issue currency. These pieces circulated briefly in online markets around 2013 as part of a wave of fantasy "regional" issues attributed to various Russian republics, none of which possess minting rights. They are collector curiosities at best, private manufacture at worst.
