Opmerkingen

The P#51 2 Rupees series coincided with L. K. Jha's appointment as RBI Governor — a figure better remembered for his later role chairing the international monetary reform commission that produced the 1972 "Jha Report" on SDR reform. Two signatures appear on this type because the transition from Bhattacharya's tenure overlapped with note printing runs that weren't always immediately retired. The dual-signature configuration is a straightforward artifact of that changeover, not an error.

India's 2 Rupee denomination was abolished in 2017 with the last series, making the P#51 a mid-century survivor of a denomination that outlasted most predictions.
