2 Shillings German Occupation

Jersey's German Occupation issues of 1941 were produced under direct military administration after the island fell without resistance in July 1940 — the only British Crown territory to be occupied during the war. The 2 Shillings note was part of a small emergency series authorized because the occupying forces had disrupted normal currency supply from the mainland, and the island needed low-denomination paper to function at all.

These were printed locally under severe material constraints. Paper quality varied across the run, and surviving notes frequently show uneven inking consistent with rudimentary press conditions. Pick 4 is among the harder denominations in the series to find in clean, undamaged state for exactly that reason.
