| Opmerkingen |
The 1944 Polish zloty series — of which this 2 złote is part — was produced under Soviet auspices for the Polish Committee of National Liberation, the Lublin-based communist provisional authority. The notes were printed in the USSR and introduced as the PKWN asserted control over eastern Polish territories ahead of the Red Army's westward advance. They effectively displaced both the London government-in-exile's currency arrangements and the occupation-era notes still circulating.
The series is sometimes called the "lubelskie" issue after Lublin. Watermarking was retained despite wartime production constraints.
