Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse displays a bold, large numeral '2' dominating the centre of the coin, rendered across both the copper-nickel inner disc and the aluminium bronze outer ring, creating a striking bimetallic visual effect. The background of the central disc features fine horizontal engine-turned line engraving, providing a guilloche-style pattern that contrasts with the raised numeral. Flanking the central numeral on the left and right within the outer ring are stylised oak leaf and acorn motifs in low relief. The currency denomination legend ZŁOTE is inscribed along the lower exergue in bold upright capital letters.

Aanvullende informatie

Poland's circulating bimetallic 2 Złote was introduced in 1994 as part of the denomination restructuring ahead of the 1995 redenomination, which replaced the old złoty at a rate of 10,000 to 1 — the accumulated arithmetic of decades of communist-era inflation. The coin was deliberately engineered to survive that transition, entering circulation before the new złoty officially existed.

Production continued across four mints over thirty years, with the Warsaw Mint handling the bulk of output. Minor die variations exist across the run but have attracted little systematic collector attention.
