| Obverse description | Letterpress in brown and red on cream paper, with a central allegorical underprint vignette in light brown showing Mercury flanked by two male figures personifying commerce and labour, one bearing a caduceus and the other a key and tools. The issuer title COMMUNE DE CORNESSE runs in bold capitals across the upper banner, flanked by red diamond cartouches each bearing '0,20' in white, while the denomination VINGT CENTIMES is set in large red capitals below, followed by the redemption clause in smaller type. Three manuscript signatures of the échevinal college are applied across the lower half, accompanied by the handwritten date 'Cornesse le 31 Octobre 1915' to the right and the year '1915' within a red shield cartouche at bottom centre. |
