| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is dominated by the bank's full title in arched letterpress at the top — BARCLAYS BANK (DOMINION COLONIAL AND OVERSEAS) FORMERLY THE COLONIAL BANK — with a central heraldic vignette of the Royal Arms supported by a lion and unicorn. Guilloche rosettes and lathe-work panels bearing the numeral 20 flank the central design on either side, while the denomination TWENTY DOLLARS appears in bold letterpress below the coat of arms. Printed notes include the promise to pay clause, the incorporation references by Royal Charter 1836 and Act of Parliament 1925, with signature lines for Accountant and Manager at the lower margin. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse carries the bank's heading in two lines — BARCLAYS BANK (DOMINION, COLONIAL AND OVERSEAS) FORMERLY THE COLONIAL BANK — above a centrally placed heraldic vignette of the Royal Arms with lion and unicorn supporters, set within an ornate guilloche surround. Large numeral 20 counters in dark intaglio appear on each flank within lathe-work oval panels, echoing the obverse design. The printer's imprint of Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Ltd., New Malden, Surrey, England appears at the foot of the note. |

| Opmerkingen |
Barclays Bank (Dominion, Colonial and Overseas) was itself only formed in 1925, the result of a merger between three colonial banking concerns. A note attributed to that entity and dated 1922 is almost certainly a retroactive catalog classification — the issuing bank at the time of printing would have been one of its predecessor institutions, most likely the Colonial Bank, the Anglo-Egyptian Bank, or the National Bank of South Africa, depending on which territory this note was intended for. The Pick reference and issuer name should be treated with that in mind.
Bradbury, Wilkinson's New Malden facility was the dominant supplier of colonial currency printing for British-affiliated banks throughout the interwar period, handling everything from security paper sourcing to final plate engraving in-house.
