| 表面の説明 | The obverse is dominated by the bank title 'THE CANADIAN BANK OF COMMERCE' in bold lettering across the top, with large '20' numerals and Roman numeral 'XX' at the lower corners. To the left, an allegorical male figure identified as Neptune or a river god reclines against rocks, while to the right a group of three classical female figures — representing Commerce or the Arts — is rendered in fine intaglio engraving against a guilloche underprint in pale rose and yellow. The centre bears the promise text 'WILL PAY TO BEARER ON DEMAND', the denomination 'TWENTY DOLLARS' in red, the date 'TORONTO, 2ND JUNE, 1935', and two serial numbers flanking a crowned heraldic vignette, with two manuscript signatures below. |

| 裏面の説明 | The reverse is printed entirely in red-brown intaglio and centres on the oval arms of the Canadian Bank of Commerce — a shield bearing a sailing vessel flanked by the inscription 'CANADIAN BANK OF COMMERCE' and the founding date '1867' — supported by two standing allegorical female figures, one holding a caduceus and the other with a cornucopia, symbolising Trade and Abundance. Large '20' counters appear at both the upper left and upper right, with the word 'TWENTY' set within a cartouche at the base. The border is filled with intricate lathe-work guilloche patterns and fine engine-turned ornamental frames. |
