| Obverse description | At center, the Maltese coat of arms is depicted as a decorative cartouche-style shield bearing the eight-pointed Maltese Cross in relief, framed by elaborate scrollwork and floral flourishes. The shield occupies the majority of the inner field, surrounded by a raised inner circle. Twelve five-pointed stars are evenly distributed around the outer border of the coin, echoing the European Union motif. The legend MALTA appears in raised Latin capitals along the lower rim within the border. |
