| Reverse description | The reverse, engraved by Pannemaker Fils after the 1872 design by H. Cabasson, presents a large central allegorical vignette with a classical female figure seated at left in a contemplative pose, attended by a second figure to the right amid military and maritime trophies, set against an elaborate guilloche and ornamental column border. Numeral '20' appears at upper left and upper right within the decorative frame, and a central cartouche at bottom repeats the anti-counterfeiting legal warning. The engravers' and designer's credits are inscribed in the lower margin. |
