Czechoslovakia's interwar monetary administration conducted periodic trial strikes to evaluate new compositions and planchet specifications before committing to full production runs — this 1931 brass piece appears to be one such exercise. Whether it preceded a formal proposal to replace the existing zinc-aluminium coinage or simply tested a supplier's planchet blanks is not documented in surviving mint records with any precision.
No brass 20 haléřů ever entered circulation.
