| Vorderseitenlegende | NEZAVISNA DRŽAVA HRVATSKA DVADESET KUNA 20 ZAGREB 15. SIJEČNJA 1944 MINISTAR DRŽAVNE RIZNICE |
| Rückseitenbeschreibung | The reverse repeats the same overall architectural and ornamental composition as the obverse, printed in a lighter warm brown tone on a cream-coloured ground, giving a visually distinct appearance. The central guilloche medallion again carries the numeral 20, with DVADESET KUNA inscribed within the cartouche, and the NEZAVISNA DRŽAVA HRVATSKA legend arching above. The flanking column borders and the upper and lower knotwork friezes with heraldic vignettes are reproduced in the same intaglio-style layout, while the right-hand diamond guilloche ornament and Croatian chequerboard arms are rendered in a finer, more delicate guilloche underprint. |

| Anmerkungen |
The Nezavisna Država Hrvatska — the Ustaše puppet state installed by the Axis powers in April 1941 — printed this note in 1944 but never released it into circulation. By that point the NDH's monetary system was under severe inflationary strain and German occupation authorities exercised increasing control over currency decisions, which likely explains why the issue was suppressed before distribution.
Vladimir Kirin was one of Croatia's most accomplished graphic artists of the period, better known for his architectural watercolors than for banknote work. Unissued examples occasionally show minor sheet separation along the watermark zone, a known characteristic of HDT paper stock from this period.
