Reverse description The reverse is printed entirely in red-brown and dominated by an elaborate guilloche engine-turned underprint filling the entire field. A large central oval medallion encloses the Finnish State coat of arms — a crowned lion rampant on a field strewn with roses — surrounded by dense rococo scrollwork and floral ornaments. Large numeral '20' counters appear at left and right within guilloche frames, and a fine lace-pattern border runs around the perimeter.

Comments

Finland's post-independence banking infrastructure was still finding its footing when this series was issued. The 1922 notes were produced domestically — a deliberate choice by Suomen Pankki to reduce reliance on foreign printers following independence in 1917 and the brutal civil war that followed in 1918.

Pick 63 is not a scarce type in absolute terms, but genuine circulated examples show characteristic wear along the horizontal fold lines, a known weakness of this paper stock.
