| Obverse description | Central design features the national emblem of Mauritania, depicting a palm tree flanked by stylized vegetation and a crescent with star above, all surmounted by a five-pointed star at the apex. The date of issue is divided on either side of the central device, with '20' to the left and '04' to the right.
