| Obverse description | Printed in blue-violet on a light underprint, the obverse carries a central vignette of traditional Timorese thatched dwellings set amid tropical vegetation, flanked by the denomination numeral '20' at left and a circular guilloche medallion enclosing the Portuguese armillary sphere at right. Chinese characters appear above the central vignette and in the four corner cartouches, while the bank title 'BANCO NACIONAL ULTRAMARINO' runs across the top border. The date 'LISBOA, 16 de Novembro de 1945' and two manuscript signatures are printed in the lower portion alongside the decree reference. |
