| Obverse description | The obverse carries the heading 'Treasury Emergency Currency Certificate' at top, with a two-line authority clause certifying redemption by the Commonwealth of the Philippines upon termination of emergency. The large denomination legend 'Twenty Pesos' is set in bold serif type at centre, beneath which a payability clause reads 'Payable to the bearer on demand in silver pesos or in legal tender currency of the Philippines.'
