| 备注 |
The BSP's ongoing "New Generation Currency" series, introduced in 2010, replaced the older BSP series that had run since 1985. The 20 Piso denomination has historically seen the heaviest wear of any Philippine note — its face value keeps it in constant daily transactional use, and cotton-paper examples from this series typically show accelerated deterioration in tropical humidity conditions, a known issue the BSP has periodically cited in public reports on currency replacement cycles.
Pick 236 represents the current polymer-transition holdout: the BSP moved several denominations to polymer substrate in 2022–2023 trials but retained cotton for this value pending circulation data.
